Hyperion

Named after the mobile headquarters of Ranyor's Raiders from the video game Starcraft Hyperion was a white 1995 Jeep Cherokee Sport that my parents bought new. For a short time it served as my mothers primary method of getting myself and my siblings to and from school. After that it became my Fathers transport to and from work.

In 2009 at the start of my senior year of High School I started driving the Cherokee to school.

I have two distinct memories of this vehicle. The first is of the day my parents picked it up. They traded in there 1982 Cougar for the Cherokee and left my siblings and I at my Grandmothers house. When they came back from the dealer I, being four at the time, refused to get in it not knowing who's the car was. The second memory was of a trip to school one morning when I was 9. We were already running late and my mother did not notice that I did not have my seat belt on when we left the house. (I went through a phase where I would try to get away with not wearing my seat belt, it never worked). Less then half a mile from our house my mother noticed and just as she was yelling at me to put it on she had to break as a deer ran across the road. The vehicle stopped, my head didn't putting a good sized spider web crack in the wind shield. At an early age I was already hard on vehicles, something I would not grow out of until I went off to college.

The Hyperion only had minor problems, a broken water pump, burned out climate control unit, bad battery. Both the engine and transmission worked perfectly for 138,000 miles
